  • Review a legacy office GPT

    If an approved custom GPT already supports generic office queries, test its answer to an out-of-scope patient question and an incomplete policy reference. Capture the useful instructions and its failures. OpenAI has announced planned retirement and recommends plugin migration, so check the replacement route before making this assistant part of a continuing administrative process.6 OpenAI retires custom GPTs on 11 December 2026; build new work as a skill or plugin.10

    With a locally approved connected app, retrieve a public or test-folder guide and check its source before summarising it. Avoid broad connections to clinical repositories during training. App availability and actions differ by workspace and service, so the administrator should inspect the connection's scope and the user should review what actually came back.8

Can a health team learn from synthetic information?

A file with known errors is useful because participants can compare the analysis with a trusted answer. Use invented equipment or office records, then discuss the extra controls that a real workflow would need before the organisation considers a pilot.

Does an approved account make every task acceptable?

Account access and task approval are separate decisions. Health NZ's published restrictions concern information and purpose as well as the tool.3 Ask the employer's governance lead to define the allowed administrative scope before staff bring workplace material.

Will the session include agent mode?

We do not depend on it. OpenAI's agent documentation now gives an unavailability notice, although older instructions remain on the page.9 Training focuses on tasks staff can perform and verify in the features their approved account currently exposes.

What can we take into a small pilot?

Take a defined administrative question, a permitted reference set and a reviewer who owns the outcome. Keep examples of misleading answers so the next participant knows what to challenge. Do not extend the exercise to clinical advice by changing only the prompt.
