New homes consented in the Waikato fell to 2,807 in the year ended July 2025, from 3,022 the year before and 4,121 the year before that1. Over the year to March 2025 the annual consent count was down 10.9 per cent, even though the March quarter itself reached 738 consents against 617 a year earlier2.
